Jordan Trip Part 1

Sittu and I left on Monday for the first part of our trip-- a stopover in Amsterdam. I haven't ever been to Amsterdam and we only had one day there (and it was a jetlagged day), so it was a limited visit for sure.

We got there really early Tuesday. Since Amsterdam is on the top of Sergio's list of places to see, I figured that I'd be back sometime in the not-too-distant future. That meant that I was not going to attempt to see very much. But after breakfast Sittu and I walked in the freezing cold across a few picturesque canals to the Anne Frank house. Her house was pretty boring actually, they hadn't restored it or anything so it was really just a few empty rooms with some objects displayed on the walls-- things like books they read while in hiding and letters to relatives and stuff. Her diary is much more moving and interesting than the house itself--not surprising.
