I grew up in the suburbs of Washington DC in a good disfunctional american family. My communities were always filled with diversity to my fathers chagrin, but to my benfit. I learned early and often that people are people no matter color, creed, or origin. My bloodlines are a collection of French, Puerto Rican, Irish and Scandanavian. My mother taught me to follow my heart, my friendships taught me to have no regrets and my need to explore continues to teach me about the world.
Blame it on Rio 1984..I was 14 yrs old and dreamed of the beaches and the bikinis I saw in this film ;) I first experienced Brasil Sept 07. I came here to see a wonderful carioca woman, whom I am still with to this day. Isis took me to Buzios for a dynamite Independence Day weekend, I hang-glided over Sao Conrado and touched the sands of Prainha like in the movie...Every free moment back in New York I would get lost in thought about Rio. These thoughts tuned into a plan to relocate. Everybody would like to live in paradise but the problem is in most cases, how do you make a living? How can I apply my skills there and make it work? After visiting on six occations and studying the landscape I realized the opportunity that is present in Brasil and more specifically Rio de Janeiro is endless. The progress and growth Brasil has made in world affairs is undeniable. And this fertile environment will allow Brasil to become a leader in the world on many fronts; Energy and Conservation being at the top of the list. Now people travel here not only for vacation but for business and the migration eventually happens. Nobody comes to Rio and leaves unaffected by it beauty, charm and energy.

American In Brasil Interactive is a business born out of neccessity. When I was researching brasil before I moved. I found it difficult to find all I was looking for on one site. I would spend hours google searching the internet from site to site. AIB is a one stop information site that successfully provides all desired information and links to other sites with more specifics for anyone wanting to travel, invest and/or find knowledge about Rio de Janeiro...and soon the AIB team will offer more on greater Brasil.
I love Rio....she gives me great energy. The freshest air and water in the world! The most dynamic city interwoven with a precious mountain range of thick jungle. A feeling of blessing over me is present always.
I have a vision of becoming the unofficial American Ambassador to Brasil. We can not deny the explosion of wealth and tourism that will happen here over the next six years. The ingredients are in place and I look to help mold the outcome in a positive direction. So that Rio can balance its growth and prosperity with the neccessary conservation to continue to live in harmony with the natural beauty which has given us all peace...I will be here always!
