When travelling around the world one experiences sertain hardships. Communication problems, digestive problems, missed flights and trains and of course the ever present "hurry up and wait" that accompanies all international travel. However, when travelling there is one thing you will never have to put with, the Department of Motor Vehicles, or as they call it in the USVI, the Bureau of Motor Vehicles. No no, this hardship is reserved for those of us who decide to stay awhile in a certain place, usually for a period of over a few months that would neccesitate the purchase, and hence registration, of a vehicle.
While visiting the DMV blows no matter where you are, in the Virgin Islands the pain is greatly exacerbated by lack of efficiency, a surplus of attitude and a dearth of correct information.
