We decided to head to Kuala Lumpur after reading a tourist guide just after Christmas; we booked the trip a couple of days later. I wasn't too convinced at first, preferring instead to go to Bangkok, but my scepticism was blown away by the rich multicultural atmosphere of the malaysian capital. Kuala Lumpur is a modern, vibrant city with lots to offer, plenty of character, charm and culture. The colonial style buildings well blend with the chinese, arabic and indian ones. The huge skyscrapers create a striking contrast with the more colorful traditional malay style houses.
The parks are alive with both local flora and fauna.
One of the first landmarks one is bound to come across are certainly the Petronas Towers, pride and joy of the Malay people. They are a magnificent sight!! It is possible to buy a ticket to go up till the skybridge, but the tickets are limited in number and usually sell quite fast. We preferred to just admire them from down below....
