Hida Takayama Hotel review: Spa Hotel Alpina

New facility, convenient location in central Takayama.
Parking facility on the permises 500 yens per day. Onsen on the top floor giving you a good overlooking of the city with large windows and gives a pleasant atmosphere.
Room fairly large compare to Japanese standard and tidy. Breakfast room, cantine style with a fair choice for continental breakfast style .
Booked for a night and was able to book a second night on arrival at a high price due to the Matsuri , extras 4400 yens over the first night rate and every cost to be paid before to move to the room.

Hida Takayama Hotel review: Ryokan Say-Liu (Seiryu)

This is not a place I will call enjoyable, room was lousy the only windows looks on to a wall in a narrow alley, which means no natural light. Mentioned that we will arrived at 10.00am but no way to get the room before 3.00pm and not a point you can argued with the staff stiff like my neck ... Too expensive for what you get...
You pay and you shut up !!
