Montreal Hotel review: Hotel Park Avenue

we had booked online from Austria, Europe a cheap double and did not know anything but the homepage infos.
first we got a dark room in the basement (there was nothing else available) but then after 2 days we could change to a better and larger one on the second floor.
(so insist on getting a room not in the basement - they are darkest and the window - if there is one - is below groundlevel and to a backyard....)
it's in a nice district of Montreal not too for from the subway station MontRoyal (10 mins.? walk), not totally fresh and clean but okay for the price.
