So I arrived in Fiji on the 31st October 2008 in Nandi. After a 16 hour shambles of flights and waiting around the airport I didn't care much about much exept having a shower and brushing my teeth. I booked into Aquiries backpackers and they sent a driver over to pick me up. Aquiries was a fine place to stay but they were booked out the following day so I moved next door to Smugglers Cove backpackers. I did a few trips to the town of Nandi and didn't like it. Touts everywhere. I just wanted toothpaste! I really wanted to get away from the whole resort life so I booked a transfer by minivan to Pacific Harbour and booked ahead at a backpackers called Uprising. Flew into Nandi on the 31st October, spent two nights staying at Smugglers Cove backpackers. Caught a mini van to Pacific Harbour, stayed one night at Uprising Resort. Caught local bus to Suva, spent the day exploring. Tried to catch the ferry to Suvasuva but it broke down, spent the night sleeping on the ship. Transferred to another boat, 12 hour trip, slept onboard. Spent 4 night in Suvasuva staying with couchsurfers. Caught ship back to mainland (slept on board), headed to Denaru Island and spent the remaining four nights at the Hillton.
