Split Guesthouse review: Peruzovic Rooms

Owners were lovely and very friendly. When we arrived they showed us on a map everywhere that we should/could visit in Split and made us feel very welcome. The room itself was quite small and not necessarily the most comfortable for a long stay but we were there for just a few nights and it was fine.

Bari Guesthouse review: Bari Belle Camere

Owners appartment, he rents out rooms. You share a bathroom that is also the owners and the whole place smelled like cigarette smoke because he smoked inside. There is also a dog for those who might be allergic but he was sweet and well behaved. No aircon, noisy with the window open. I actually got a really bad electric shock trying to plug in a fan because it looked like exactly the same sort of plug but needed an adapter for some reason, this was not explained so I was a bit upset at that. The rooms don't lock. We were given access to washing facilities but the owner explained only later that the machine was so old it didn't even spin dry properly and there was no dryer so we had to hang things over night and ended up with damp clothes for a week until the next laundromat we found.

Athens Hotel review: Athinaikon

The owners were very nice, and it was fairly close to a metro station, but thats really the only good thing I could say about this place. It was in a dodgy area, while walking down the same street a week before (we went to the Islands and returned for one nigth at this place before a flight) we saw an elderly man have his bag snatched in broad daylight. The room was dimly lit, no natural light, and the bathroom was awful with no shower curtain etc. There was air con and TV but thats pretty standard. There was no lift which was irritating. Overall I think you could do so much better, especially for the price.
