Hida Takayama Hotel review: Ryokan Say-Liu (Seiryu)

This was the first time we had stayed in a ryokan and it was a lovely introduction to that style of accommodation. Excellent staff, very good facilities, within easy walking distance of the older part of town for tourist exploration and, we thought, good value for money. Breakfast although a "western" for us was served at a low table in a very gracious, tatami matted room. There was also parking which was an unexpected bonus. Nearby there is a small tempura restaurant - Konzou Tsukagoshi which we also highly recommend. Overall, a very good experience.
