Citizenship: IrelandI've been a member of TP since Jan 2005 and find that I just keep coming back :) I remember going back to work on 2 Jan that year, feeling uninspired and at sea. I made a promise to myself that on that same day the next year I would begin a RTW trip, and that's exaclty what I did. On 2 Jan 2006 I left Ireland for South America. I spent 18 months travelling solo around South America and New Zealand before returning home again last June.
At the start of this year I moved to New York City to start a new job and I'm settled here temporarily! I'm working towards becoming a professional photographer and my goal is to achieve a balance in life whereby my work facilitates my passion for travel. I hope to do this eventually through freelancing.
Upcoming trips include Canada in Sept/Oct 2008 and Cuba in April 2009 if all goes to plan! :) Further down the road, I am hoping to get the opportunity to work on a volunteer conservation project in South Africa.
I'm now addicted to solo travel, and my life has made the most sense to me when I have been on the road meeting new people, getting to know the world and myself in the process. Travelling is my biggest passion by far and has informed my consciousness and broadened my outlook on life enormously!

Its been about 6 months since I updated this or something. I know, I know I dont really deserve a TP blog do I?
I'll try harder, I promise.
It's high summer here in New Zealand.

Auckland is just HOT and sticky most days and it's actually a relief to get into work just for the aircon! Still though, i'm not complaining. Apart from the odd torrential downpour it's fanstastic sunny weather and you are never far from a beach here. Auckland is pretty much surrounded by water, being on a narrow isthmus between the Tasman Sea and the Pacific.
Ive been a busy girl in the last 6 months. I've tried to see as much of the country as I can , racking up two speeding fines in my overzealousness to cover ground.
Work has gotten in the way somewhat and made it difficult to be a tourist here, but Ive managed to do a lot, including a 15,000ft skydive, [img=http://www.travellerspoint.com/photos/26

Just spent two weeks in the Alberta and British Columbia regions. Was truly blessed with spectacular weather. Indulged in a lot of hiking, glacier walking and wildlife spotting!

I've done a lot of travelling around North and Central Italy. I've also been down the Amalfi Coast to Pompeii and Naples. I've used Italy as a base to travel into Switzerland, France and Slovenia. I'm also currently learning Italian in case anyone needs some basics...(I'm not v good though!)
