Beijing Hotel review: Tai Long Hotel

The best part was the room and bathroom were clean and the shower worked well. Also the hotel is also well located very near the Forbidden City and Wanfujing.

What we did not like - hotel name was not written in Chinese on the booking confirmatino so we had nothing to show the taxi driver to get taken there on arriving in beijing. We got there on public transport and then walked past it as the photo of the hotel was not accurate and really showed the one next door which was a more impressive looking hotel - not a good start as it took us ages to find it in the pouring rain!Staff spoke little English and were not very friendly - we could not have booked tours or got help with ongoing train tickets - from them. Also no obvious place to have breakfast - we went out every day. Also because of the language barrier difficult to explain would have liked some laundry doing so did not use the service. We also had many problems with the room key which did not work and we had to going to reception to get them to sort this out

Probably good value if you speak Chinese - if not it has a good location and is clean but is not really set up for Western tourists.
