a little random

No theme, or even a projected outline for this blog entry, just a few random things I thought I would include on daily life here in paradise... I mean... Ixtepec.

Well the big news in our little town is that the new Bodega Aurrera (chain store owned by W-Mart) has finally opened. In my opinion it means only bad news.
1. The local sellers of useless crap in the markets now have to compete with the flashy new store with air conditioning.
2. Local money will be trucked out of the town, profits will not stay local
3. Traffic on our road is way more crazy than it used to be
4. And perhaps most regretable of all is that, now that the consturction work is over, there are no grubby construction workers to whistle at Gretchen and I daily as we passed by the site.

We miss those guys already... now who will remind of us how attractive we are?
