The Colosseum (also spelt Coliseum) is the ancient symbol of Rome. Built around 80 AD it is said have been the arena of death to over 9000 wild animlas and 2000 gladiators.
As we walked around the colosseum we noticed a man dressed up as a gladiator moving around with the tourists and I thought he was a good subject for an album.As I raised my camera to take a picture of him the thought that I may be have to shell out a few chips did flash through my mind but it was too late to stop taking the picture and too late to even avoid the notice of the gladiator himself who came rushing towards us like he was attacking a beast.
Another Roman dressed similarly joined him and moments later they had taken charge of the situation. We were encouraged to take as many pictures as we wanted .They posed for pictures and offered to take more pictures with all of us in it.I was now convinced this exercise was going to cost me a pretty Euro and hoped the demand would be reasonable.
