Montreal Hotel review: Hotel le Saint-Malo

Positive: Good for a budget hotel. Had all the necessary ammenities and thought it was clean. The on-suite toilet was very good: spacious, always had hot water, clean. staff were friendly and helpful and the location was perfect, very central in an area full of restaurants, cafes and a few bars. Closest metro only 5-10 mins away.

Negative: our particular double room was a little small, but not really a big deal. The room looked out on the street and close by bulidings, so wasn't much privacy with the curtains open and I don't know if this was a problem from the hotel or not but i did get bitten, yet the odd thing is that my girlfriend didn't, so may not have been bed bugs. Also, didn't realise you had to pay taxes because the confirmation e-mail didn't specifically mention that and 'amount to pay on arrival' didn't include taxes.

Overall: Good place to stay if you want a clean, friendly hotel at a reasonable price.
