Surfers Paradise Hostel review: Trekkers Backpackers Resort

Friendly staff, they immediately upgraded my bed in a dorm to a dedicated family room!
The hostel is near Australia Fair shopping mall.
Very simple breakfast, tea and milk and two cereals, no coffee, but after I mentioned it
to the kind courtesy bus driver, the coffee was available the next days. Thumbs up for Noel!
Their courtesy shuttle to Surfers Paradise runs every two hours from 10am to 6pm,
it would be nice if it ran at least until 8pm, to enjoy an evening at SP.
They suggested me to change Euros at a nearby bank, do not do that, better go to
a moneychanger at Orchid Ave, near Cavill at SP, and shop around.

Kyoto HOSTEL review: Renjishi

Owner kind and helpful.
It was not possible to lock my room from the outside.
Cash only accepted, they should mention it somewhere.
Best change rate at the post office.
Japan too expensive!

Seoul HOSTEL review: Guesthouse Korea

Excellent location at Anguk, breakfast included but boring just toast and strawberry jam, with tea and filtered coffee. Three computers available for free internet.
Lovely place, though, and friendly staff.

Pingyao HOSTEL review: Yamen Hostel

One of the best hostels I ever stayed, smack in the center, atmospheric building, very fast free internet, excellent value.
However, do not believe them when they say some places you may only go with a tour, like Wang House or Shuanglin Temple that you may reach by bus, even if it is not trivial.

Xi'an HOSTEL review: Xiangzimen International Youth Hostel

I had a very bad start at the hostel, that I chose because in its description it claimed "breakfast included" and "free coffee" to find that breakfast and coffee were paying.
After showing to the manager the travellerspoint description I got one free breakfast and coffee out of a four nights stay.
Internet was very slow, I am now staying at a hostel at Pingyao with a much faster internet, so it is not China's fault, it is the hostel that apparently saves on the internet line.
Only good points of the hostel are the location near the South gate, and the building, a classical Chinese house that reminds me of Pingyao.
Next time at Xi An I'll book an hotel, they are better value, and you get a room all for yourself.

Hangzhou HOSTEL review: Wushanyi International Youth Hostel

Avoid this hostel, if at all possible, the dorm was windowless small and smelly for six people.
On the travellerspoint description they promised free breakfast, but there was no breakfast available.
Internet is very very slow.
Pretty far from the West Lake.
Thanks God I only stayed two nights then moved to much better Mingtown International Hostel right on the West Lake, for the same price I stayed in a four beds dorm and internet was at good speed.

Darwin HOSTEL review: Dingo Moon Lodge

Optimal position in the center of Darwin CBD, excellent breakfast with yoghurt, milk, fruits, bread, jams, milk, cereals... Forgettable orange juice. Weak air conditioning in the dorm.
They demand $40 for key deposit and they keep your luggage for free only until 4pm, I do not understand why, after that you must pay something.
I think that in the hostel description they should mention the key deposit, I did not have enough cash and I had to pay with my credit card, with a 50 cents increase non refundable.

Melbourne HOSTEL review: Exford Hotel

The hostel is right in the centre of Melbourne CBD, this is the only positive thing I can say about it.
They ask AUD$50 , yes fifty dollars, as key deposit, the breakfast is limited to two slices of bread and one small bowl of milk and cereal, and one coffee, and worst of all the toilettes do not work, as well as the sinks, I had to shower at the lower floor, and in two days stay I was not able to wash my teeth!
Make yourself a favour, stay elsewhere.

Sydney Hostel review: City Central Budget Accommodation

Excellent location, but only one shower per floor, sometimes I had to go upstairs for the toilette/shower.
I liked the free train ride from the airport, if you stay at least three nights, as I did.
Also, near the bus 555 free shuttle to Circular Quay.
I would definitely come back!
