In the basement of the Roman Ruins- had been built solely so that the emporers residence could be above the sea. During medieval times, holes were punched in the street and trash was deposited in the cellars. In late 20th century, these trash heaps were discovered and the basement excavated. Nothing of real value hass been found because it was just garbage and human waste.
