I really don't understand why some sarcastic critic said he liked to dine at the Eiffel Tower because it "is the only place in Paris he can't see it" - despite being a tourist trap deluxe it is still one of the most beautiful examples of 18th century architectural ingenuity I have ever seen in Europe...nothing beats enjoying a cheese and wine picninc at the Champ de Mars gardens under it on a balmy night; when the flashing lights go on like thousands of tiny flickering stars.
