My home in Mumbai, India

On our climb up the mountain from town.
One of the narrow, steep alleys, characteristic of Shimla
Kullu- Valley of Gods....my birthplace. Amazing culture and scenery.
My night at Agra Fort station - the 8 o'clock evening Marudhar to Varanasi failed to materialise until the next morning - at 8. What irony - im sure i, as all the other disgruntled travellers who had to slept on the station floor (with bugs running around) had read our tickets correct. It was pretty shocking to wake up at daybreak to all tha activity around me - mass teeth-brushing, people swarming the station toilets for an early morning shower, storeowners pushing their carts over our legs to get their stalls in place for the day... It was pretty surreal, i'd say.

The Taj Ganj used to house the artisans and architects brought in from distant lands to work on the Taj Mahal. Today it is (still) a sprawling mess, but of cheap guesthouses, budget restaurants, travel agents and the like
The audience chamber where the legendary peacock throne was before the invading Persians under Nader Shah carted it away.
An abandoned Mughlai capital near Agra, due to water problems after the huge city was built in the middle of nowhere. It has a ghost town feel to it with the quietly imposing red sandstone arches, walls, and Islamic-influenced minarets.
