Originally built in 12th Century; re-built many times since.
Storm clouds racing by, I stood as mesmerized in front of Schloss Charlottenburg, waiting for those rare seconds when a break in the clouds would perfectly line up with the sun to make the building glow with a rare light. Nearly froze my fingers off, but it was worth every second of waiting.

Have you ever seen a speed limit sign for a tank? This is on the bridge before the famous gates of Lübeck (yes, we bought Marzipan!). Puja and Herr McVeigh (program director) are glimpsable in this photo...see them?
Walking along the Elbe across from the "Speicherstadt," we caught this cityscape.
Our favorite Hamburg mural, found on Lange Reihe, the gayest street in the city, with more Friseurs (Hair Salons) and cafés than any other, and some of our favorite international markets and restaurants!
