The monks of the Thien Mu Pagoda in Hue, Vietnam have displayed the car that Thích Quảng Đức drove to the spot of his self-immolation. The Central Market of Hoi An, Vietnam is an institution. A busy, crowded, well-used institution. Between the carts of the vendors, the feet of the shoppers, and the more than occasionally intruding flood waters from the river, the streets of the Central Market are covered in potholes. In an effort to smooth the way, the market vendors have filled the worst potholes with broken flip flops - or perhaps the flip flops just got stuck in a pothole and rather than struggle, the owners left them behind.
