Silver birch and oak leaves, Tunbridge Wells
Tunbridge Wells Common
An oasis of countryside at the heart of Tunbridge Wells. Oaks, beeches, silver birches and sycamores have colonised this area of land which was traditionally heathland. With neighbouring Rusthall Common included there are more than 250 acres of common land.
The Pantiles was the first pedestrian precinct in England.
Discovered by chance in 1606 by Lord North on his way between Eridge Park and London.
