Mealtime by the river

The Berawan tribe who live in Loagan Bunut in Miri, Sarawak, lead a simple, contented life...Often you will see them, taking a break from fishing in the river, and helpinbg themselves to a freshly grilled fish!

Highland padi harvesting

The Berawan tribe of Loagan Bunut in Miri, Sarawak grow hill padi as a subsistence crop. Traditionally, the women do the planting and harvesting which ends with a colourful event Gawi - the harvest festival in May...It is of feasting, drinks (tuak) and dancing all night through!
