The entrance to my guesthouse in the hutongs
Small but perfectly formed
This is the Tianjin Eye. Looks great at night!
I saw a girl with her face made up carrying around a mask, so I asked her mum if I could take a pic and she obliged! So cute :)
Not sure if that cinema is for real, but the fountain sure is. China LOVES theme parks.
The European powers and Japan divided up Tianjin at various parts in time called concessions. Walking along the Hai River will show you them. :)
Wandered about a bit more and found a tank! And a howitzer! In front of a church...
This is a great place. If you're sticking out by the Hai River though, it's rather far-flung, so you might want to take a very cheap taxi out there. Be careful - they might try to wait for you and keep the meter going.
The façade of this building very vaguely reminded me of the Casa Milà in Barcelona. I liked it!
I took a very long walk just around to nowhere in particular. The streets look very, very Western and quite a large amount are original from the era of Concessions. The bus here is advertising having air conditioning.
I got off the train at Tianjin Railway Station, and I see things like this. Very nice :)
The flight from Lhasa to Zhongdian (Shangri La) passes over some of the remotest areas in China. These are the Hengduan Mountains, east of the Himalaya.
