It is hard to believe that this beautiful lagoon is an accident. the neighbouring geothermal power plant thought that their excess water would get absorbed back into the ground but when they poured it over the volcanic rock the water and rock had a chemical reaction and created this fantasic hot water lagoon. Which I managed to float in for hours before turning into a prune.

Pingvellir is paart of a fisure zone running through Iceland, situated n the tetonic plate boundries of the Mid-Atlantic ridge. The fissures and faaults are vissibal to the eye but hard to photograph, it was truely amazing to see.
