Eating hot pot in China is always best with your good friends!
Can you imagine? Three people, all you can eat in a trendy Chinese city for 32 USD altogether :) This place is called 春暖花開餐廳, the address is 杭州市西湖區萬塘路262號, and it has 4 stars on Dianping! I highly recommend it!
You can buy anything here, from traditional medicine, to food cart snacks, to old propaganda! I even picked up a fake coin from the Republican era! You could tell it was fake because my Chinese friends helped me negotiate from 50 USD to $2. :D
This is a great place to peek about shops selling old wares. Beware of fakes! And this place gets really crowded. It's not original, but if you're in China for a long time, you'll notice that most places seem the same. Places like these are a great break!
Jingyuetan is warm in the summer, and luckily it's right off the light rail. You can rent boats, bikes, and spend the day having fun. You can even meet people here for the first time, like I did, and maybe fall in love for the day. :)
Changchun is a city full of factories and wide boulevards and tons of people everywhere, but China loves parks and you can even find ones that are not full of people occasionally. This one is outside of Jilin Daxue.
This is the big football of Laodong Park in Dalian
You can get inside of these things, well if you're a child, and roll about on the lake! I really wanted to, but...
For a few years at the turn of the century, Dalian was a Russian port. Very little is left of the original buildings from that time, but this is one of them. This decrepit building was spared the wrecking ball.
If you've been to China, you know that buses can get PACKED. Well, in this country, sometimes getting on a bus can take a literal response in approach. :)
In China much more than in the USA, children can be left to their own devices. Here we see two kids from next to my school typing up the third. Lotsa fun. I threw a snowball at them the winter before :)
