Yosemite NP

The Upper Falls plunge 1,430 ft (440 meters) from a hanging valley to the middle falls area. There is no view of the middle falls from the valley floor. Sometimes in the fall the Upper Falls may stop flowing entirely. Extreme rock climbers then attempt to climb the now dry Upper Falls.

Yosemite NP

Vernal Falls is one of many powerful waterfalls in Yosemite. It has a 317 ft drop (97meters) and is where 3 hikers were swept to the deaths July 19. Only 1 body has been recovered so far.

Yosemite Falls is the highest waterfall in the US. It is 2,425ft (739 meters) from the top of Yosemite Falls to the bottom of the lower falls. The Lower Falls are 320 ft (98 meters) and are the most used viewing area in YNP.
