We met up with our Belgian friends to try a hike thats been highly recommended to us by several locals. Its about 45 minutes outside Wanaka at Rob Roy glacier. I thought there were only 2 glaciers in NZ - Fox and Franz Josef - but apparently, there are hundreds.
Brody claims this is his favorite time of day because the shadows on the mountains make them look dramatic and imposing.
This is the main drag along the lake front. We especially like the Speights Ale House on the corner. They have good happy hour specials and a great deck.
We woke up one morning to snow all over the mountain tops! It didnt stick around for long, but it really made us miss home!
Yes, Brody is washing his hair in the lake.
The whole town sits on a lake front. This is the view...
Dont be fooled, I wasnt there. This is Brodys impressive use of the self-timer.
Brody's adventerous hike. At times, there was no trail and the markers mysteriously went straight up the side of the mountain.
The mountains here are amazing since the valley between them is so flat. They just rocket up out of nowhere.
Not good for those afraid of heights
The water doesnt even look blue here. Trust me, it was ELECTRIC blue.
We've been getting in some culture, aside from our outdoor adventures. This church was absolutely beautiful.
Hanging out on the boat
This place was very pretty, and the Lavender Honey ice cream was tasty.
Brody has really been wanting to catch a sheep shearing show since we've been here, and we finally found one that wasnt $50.
This is where we spent a couple nights. Camping out on the beach. Rough livin.
