Travel Photography > Photos taken in Japan
This is a pretty standard example of advertising in Japan, one of the free fans they hand out at stations to fan yourself with. It is cheerful. It is colourful. It is cute. And I have absolutely no idea what it is about. Are they selling squirrels? Fireworks? The reverse side helpfully adds 'Create It!'.
Alongside the yakitori stands and kimono-clad dancers was a belly dancing performance. That's Japan for you!
Boom boom
I tried to capture his crazy dancing in photos, but it was too crazy and my camera couldn't quite handle it. It seems I have a kindred spirit in Japan!
Every now and then they throw some kids into the parade so everyone can squeal with delight at how cute they are. Myself included.
They look a bit lost though
Irashaimase! (thats Japanese for 'come try the fried octopus, its the best thing you will ever eat!')
A prominent feature of Matsuri are flags. Really big flags.
A Japanese delicacy, traditional style fish. They actually taste quite good, if a bit smoky.
Ok it would look a lot better without the pole in the way. Fireworks are kinda hard to capture on film
Really big ones
