Just one of many bridges between the Florida Keys along Hwy 1.
This was at the Miami Everglades Campground next to our RV site.

This is a very busy beach on the Gulf Coast (West) side of Florida, but also very lovely, and VERY soft sand.
We only stopped at the beach for about 30 minutes, but really enjoyed our time there.
There were so many brown pelicans flying and sitting in the water, I could only capture a small number of them.
Turns look a lot like seagulls. They have forked tails however.

The outside balcony was closed due to the strong winds, I shot this through the window, so there is a little rain in the picture. You can see the RV in the parking lot, some of the 1898 gun batteries, and a very stormy beach.
This is how close we were to the beach. The small dune is man made to try to protect the island from erosion.
We have these in Oakland Bay in Shelton, WA where I live, but these were smaller. I put the quarter near the egg sack to show the size.
The mature tree's near the shoreline of a beach indicate a beach subject to erosion. But it was sure lovely!

This is the view from the top of the Hunting Island Lighthouse
There are 167 steps to climb to the top of the Hunting Island Lighthouse.
This was constructed in the 1860's as a 'segmented cast-iron' structure that could be disassembled and moved.
