On the left in an abandoned oil platform left behind when the company went bankrupt. In the far background are part of Dow Chemical's facilities, which go on for miles and miles in this area.
This was listed as a pond on the park make, but I think qualifies more as a bayou or cedar swamp

Davis Bayou is run by the National Park Service. It is part of the Gulf Coast National Seashore. The egrets are slightly visible at the tree line on the right.

When Fort Matanzas was built, the island was only about one acre in size. More land was created through sand deposits and shifting, but it is still an island.
The magnolia trees were burned just over a hundred years ago, these are now live oaks.
I finally found a stretch of Florida coastline without 100% developed or set aside for parks. Won't be much longer however, there were "For Sale" signs and new homes going up.
There are some condo's, golf clubs and mansions up here, but it's not as highly developed as farther south
We drove along Hwy A1A today, some parts ran right along the Intercoastal Waterway
The home on the left (with white dock) was owned by Perry Como. This is on Jupiter Island
This is at John Dickenson State Park near Jupiter. It suffered two hurricanes and a major fire and is still recovering

This was on one of the keys as we drove down Hwy 1 between Miami and Key West.
This is right next to the RV at Boyds RV Campground by Key West.
Boyds Campground has both Tent and RV sites along the water as well as across from the water.
