Banaras by night.

'Diwali' is the most sacred festival of the Hindus. Like the houses & streets, the Ghats on the river Ganges are also decorated during this festival (which falls in the month of Oct/Nov). Boats floating over the river are decorated with small lamps called "Diyas". Witnessing the reflections of this lightings in the river is a rare chance.

This is a Tall Ships Festival in Dublin, showing the River Liffey and part of the north city docks. Notice the new buildings as Dublin's expansion continues into the docklands. Ireland's economic development is now slowing (March 2008).
