A statue of the famous boy king and his wife at Karnak. (This is the guy whose tomb was discovered only recently in the Valley of the Kings - undisturbed by grave robbers and containing vast amounts of treasure). It interested me because King Tut's wife is portrayed here as being the same size as him - all of the other Pharaoh's liked to shrink their wives to about knee height for statues - some ego thing.
This is Horus, the ancient falcon god. He is attributed with making the sun rise and set and the moon wax and wane. It's actually pretty funny - once a year they would carry a statue of Horus' wife into the shrine and leave the two alone together... ;-)
My buddy Sphinx ;-) Actually not the only Sphinx - just the biggest - this dude is the tallest statue in Egypt. We weren't allowed to go close enough to touch.
