This white wine was filled from the keg into unusual little jugs. Looked delicious! Should have had that instead of the Absinthe I was drinking...
This statue of an old man sitting on a bench sort of summed up the lazy laid-back atmosphere of Tarragona.
This area in the old town of Tarragona is like a mini-Rambla, full of stalls and little shops. At around 5 in the evening when the city comes to life again, this street is full of people walking their dogs and browsing.
I really enoyed these dolphins - they're so smart! Taken at the Aquarium in Valencia.
YOu have to know where to go in Valencia to find the nightlife. The centro historico becomes a ghostown by 11 or 12, and you could be forgiven for thinking that nothing happens in the city. The Bario del Carmen is where everyone is past midnight.
Took this from our balcony window at night.
This is Goya's "Perro" - difficult to see as I couldnt use a flash, but this basically depicts Goya's own fear of death. The focus of the painting is the dog's eye. The dog is imagining a terrifying monster and believes it is going to die.
More Goya - this is a depiction of Saturn eating his own child. Morbid stuff yes, but I loved this painting!
Dont know who painted this. The Prado was FULL of religious paintings...it got a bit much after you'd seen the umpteenth Last Supper. This is a depection of Our Lady with Jesus and St. John playing at her feet.
Not really sure who this dude is, but the painting was sort of engaging.
Goya makes for quite a stern figure at the door of the Prado museum in Madrid
There's a real buzz around Madrid in the evening when the shops re-open after the siesta
Took this photo through the window of a little bar in La Latina, Madrid
