Typical ironwork and greenery on balcony in New Orleans

This balcony with its lovely foliage and iron work is typical of many in the French Quarter in New Orleans. The flag indicates that there is some breeze, the reason why so many old houses in hot and humid New Orleans have upstairs balconies like this.

Horse and carraige at Williamsburg

The old colonial capital of Virginia, rebuilt and restored as it was in 1776. A great place to visit. Lots of space and fascinating 'living' history. Always something happening.

The Iron House

This is an Eiffel original, the first prefab house ever built. Eiffel designed it for the World Fair of 1889, and it was bought and transported here by a so-called 'rubber baron'.

This is the home of a local political figure in Jambiani. The green flag indicates that he is a supporter of the currently ruling party. Elections are due next year and some have told us that there will be some unrest. The government is accused of rigging the last 2 elections.
