The area around Mealy Chendra has really gone downhill since my last visit.

Many Arabs like their water pipe, and Pattaya has plenty of places to indulge their habit.
Small children are forced to sell flowers, gum, or just plain beg from the visitors. The police periodically arrest them and their handlers, but it has been going on since I first went to Pattaya in 1990.

De Tham Street. Good place to know. Cash travel checks, book a tour or go anywhere in VN via bus. Best open tour company IMO. Dates altered on VN photos to keep them in order.

They are building a new section of Highway One. Not in use yet because of this section. Perfect for motorbikes however. No trucks or buses to contend with. It joins Highway One about 10km north of NT.
