Here is another perspective of Himeji Castle, towering over the small hill where it was built almost 400 years ago.
Here is Himeji Castle, one of the prettiest and most preserved in Japan, located about 650km west of Tokyo. Known as "White Heron", it is the largest Japanese feudal castle and remains undamaged since its inauguration, in 1610. It was constructed on the top of a small hill and its main tower is about 151 feet high. In 1993, it was registered on UNESCO's World Heritage list.
These binoculars would have been pretty handy for the samurais, just a bit annoying you have to have 100 Yen on you.
Ryukyu Castle in Shuri, Okinawa, Japan. ...again, like most of Japan's castles and temples, it was rebuilt after many wars, but hopefully it shall remain undestroyed.

Eilean Donan Castle
It's quite a walk to this castle through bush along the Moselle, but well worth the effort.
The medieval Crusader fortress located between the Mediterranean Sea and the city of Homs (Hims). In Arabic it is called 'Qal'at al-Hisn.'
The castle was built by the Kurdish Muslim leader Saladin, properly Salah al-Dīn Yusuf ibn Ayyub. It is located about 10km from Latakia.
