This is in Grand Rapids, Minnesota. They also have a nice museum here, but we were in a grouchy mood and decided not to go through it.

There was a fairly long walk from the parking lot to the Mississippi Headwaters, Mom made it the whole way, even though it was later afternoon. Quite a task for her

Mom is explaining to me what this is and how it works. I would have never guessed it was a washing machine.
There was a very long room in one of the buildings filled with kitchen and sewing things. Mom actually knew what a lot of them were.
Mom is taking a picture of the post, which was built using rocks from all 50 states.
The visitors center was closed, but Mom & I really enjoyed walking around the large grounds and several statues and buildings

The North Dakota border is only 9 miles north of McLaughlin, South Dakota, where my sister lives

The chores don't end when you leave home, they just change some. We generally alternate who does dishes. It's not too bad.
Mom walked down by the Skykomish River to collect sand for a friend, I saw this tree and thought it looked special.
