This is a view of the beginning of the bridge tunnel from the Cape Charles side on the north. If you look closely, you can see the wind blowing the whitecaps.

Day 76 - New Castle, Delaware Memorial Bridge

When this bridge was completed, it greatly improved traffic between New Jersey & northern towns and Delaware, Maryland and southern towns. However, it also eliminated the economic benifits the ferry traffic had brought to New Castle.

Day 46 - Penobscot Narrows Bridge, End View

This is a brand new bridge completed in 2006. The observation tower (near side) was just opened in May 2007, the only bridge observation tower in the US.
