Tioga Lake is just 2 miles from the Tioga Pass Entrance. We had perfect weather for Yosemite & Sequoia NPs.
Tenaya Lake is named after Chief Tenaya and is just off 120. It is at 8,150 ft (2,484 meters) elevation.
Tenaya Lake was created by the Tuolumne Glacier as it carved its way through Tenaya Canyon.
Tenaya Lake is easy to get to and has great vistas for photos. Plan on stopping when visiting Yosemite NP.

For us, the most beautiful of the three, the lowest of the Sunrise Lakes is only visible when you are right in front of it. The outlet of water from the lake must be crossed on a couple of logs and rocks organised into a path.
The highest of the Sunrise Lakes is surrounded by beautiful greenery and flowering meadows. Many come there from the Tenaya Lake, despite the steep path they have to conquer.
Upper Cathedral Lake is different to the Lower cathedral Lake with its soft grass banks.
Lower Cathedral Lake is surrounded by exposed granite at one side and trees on the other, making it an ideal ground to enjoy a relaxing break with stunning views.
