All the elements of Sapa brought together - the main street, the H'mong girl with basket, water buffalo and small boy and a motorbike!
There must have been a natural dip in the land, under the lee of the mountain, but they had levelled it further and tucked their house in here - it had the most incredible views down the valley.
I know I have uploaded a great many photos of Sapa but each one does have its merit, truly, and it was the such a great w/end in a beautiful part of VN

I used the Pop Art setting on the camera as the light wasn't that bright when we stopped here. When the sun did come out, the paddy fields were green and gold.
We weren;t sure how was more surprised to see each other - us or the buffalo. The little boy looked so grumpy!
This is a long shot of the waterfall and the women washing clothes on the flat stones at the bottom by the ford.
A member of the Hmong tribe from the Sapa valley, Chi was our guide for the day. She took us off the tourist track and was fantastic company. We were sitting in the shade (it was a very hot day!), she was laughing and telling us how she met her husband in the market - not the Love Market as per the tourist guide hype but where everyone meets once a week to buy, sell and chat.
I took several shots of this view, with and without the bamboo and string fence, on and off Pop Art so I'll try and master Travellerspoint photo gallery enough to get them side by side for comparison!
