OK - so this isn't Black Butte, but I thought it was pretty nice. Still a volcanic core most likely.
This is the view looking from the old chapel meeting hall towards the Barracks, across the tennis courts at the end of the parade field.
This is the view from the front door of the large living quarters
There are two or three rec rooms in the Magnolia Vista quarters.
The kitchen also has two refridgerators to the right of this shot. It is meant for large group meals, as Magnolia Vista holds up to 23 people.
This is the dining room for Magnolia Vista. They only will tell you it can hold 23 people, but it looks to me like a few more could squeeze in.
There are 10 bedrooms like this in Magnolia Vista, no desk but a closet and bureau. One additional bedroom has three, twin bed (very tight space)
This is the large group home I reserved. There are three bedrooms on each floor at each end. There is one shared bathroom on each floor at each end (one Bath for every three bdroms). It looks like it may have been some sort of barracks at some time.
The lighthouse and marine science center are down at the beach near one of the camping areas.
This isn't a very good shot, the view is much better from the front porch. However, it does give you an idea of the parade ground in between the officers row and the barracks on the other side
Each Duplex unit has a LR with a fireplace for the 4 bedrooms in the unit.
Since the Duplex was built as a regular home for an officer's family, it has a full kitchen.
The Dining Room also has a fireplace.
There are three bedrooms like this in each Duplex, plus a smaller bedroom with a twin sized bed and a rollaway
This is the Dining Hall (formerly known as a Mess Hall), but now run by a fancy dancy food service (e.g. cafeteria)
The Old Chapel is now rented out as a meeting place, but still has the platform up front. There are plenty of folding tables & chairs and we can rearrange as needed. This will make a nice stage for a talent shows!
This is the old chapel from the outside. Parking is across the street (where I was when I took the pic). It is the first building on the left when you enter the fort.
I have reserved both sides of Duplex 6, so we will have one, complete building, Maximum Capacity = 16. Each side has four bedrooms, a kitchen, dining room, living room. There is a full bath upstairs and a half bath downstairs.
