This is a working farm set up to demonstrate old farming techniques. Only the grounds were open this time of year however.
We just entered Rhode Island finally this afternoon. Their motto is "The Ocean State"
This was actually west of Three Rivers, it might have been in Vandalia, I'm not sure. It looked like it might have been quite a house at one time.
We notice that people in a state often paint their barns the same color. In the Dakota's, they aren't painted at all. In MN, they used White, WI - Green, and MI, Red. We also noticed old barns & houses that are allowed to just collapse in place. Where we're from, the county would have condemed this and required the owner to have it torn down.
This is facing west in the late afternoon.
We visited Warren Dunes State Park on Lake Michigan. Unlike the sand dunes in California, these are mostly overgrown with tree's, only the side facing the lake is open sand
I was looking for a river or creek with some fall foliage, this was the first one I came to.

We were really surprised at how lovely the fall colors were on the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.
According to the local campground, some people travel to MI to see the fall colors, rather than VT or NH.
