This is the view from the top of the tower looking down at the starting point of our climb
Kimberly and Renee on a section of the Great Wall that rises behind them to the West or North, maybe Northwest. Jim and Eric climbed to the first or lowest tower above the green roof of the building in the center of the photo. Although it only took about ten to fifteen minutes, the climb was steep and the height of the steps were irregular making the hike more difficult.

Kimberly and Renee present a less intimidating posture. The female lion is known by the cub she is protecting underneath her left front paw.
The Imperial Guardian Lions stand guard at the entrance to the Palace of Tranquil Longevity. You can tell this is the male lion because of the sphere (that represents the earth) underneath his right front paw. However, Jim couldn't hold this menacing pose for very long.
Kimberly, Renee and Jim with Ashleigh and Eric. The Tienanmen Gate and the Forbidden City are in the background. Do we look cold?
