The Imperial Guardian Lions stand guard at the entrance to the Palace of Tranquil Longevity. You can tell this is the male lion because of the sphere (that represents the earth) underneath his right front paw. However, Jim couldn't hold this menacing pose for very long.

These are trinkets that are being sold in the hutongs near King's Joy Hostel. There were also paintings, porcelain, carvings, all sorts of stuff.
Hutongs are traditional Beijing alleyways that made up most of the old city. But now they are becoming increasingly rare.
A closer shot of these amazing girls, balancing each other while at the same time balancing crystal.
These girls precariously balanced glass on an available part of their bodies. Oddly beautiful.
