Stratosphere Views

View looking north. 'Downtown' or Fremont Street. In 1905 the railroad auctioned off lots on Fremont Street and the town of Las Vegas was born. The new World Market Center is at the left of downtown. WMC now has 2 buildings completed. When finished in 2012, it will have 8 buildings and 12 million sq. ft. of exhibit space for displaying furniture.

Chinese New Year

The CNY display at the Bellagio Conservatory. Red azeleas, red cyclamens, bromeliads and yellow chrysanthemums are used in the display. The large Chinese mandarin has lucky gold coins at his feet.

Chinese New Year

A 45', six level, eight sided pagoda is a central part of the CNY display. Both 6 & 8 are considered lucky numbers. Red is used because it brings happiness & a blessing.

A zig zag bridge is designed to fool evil spirits. Spirits have difficulty with corners and people with energy do not. Tai Hu stones are used in the CNY display, considered a prize addition to Chinese gardens.
