This plant is unique to the Pacific coastal regions and grows along swamps, creeks or other wetlands. It is one of the earliest plants to flower in the spring. It also has the largest leaves of an of the Pacific NW's native plants.
Reinet House
This is an unusual sub-species (?) of Indian Paintbrush, much more magenta then red. It seemed fairly common in the redwoods up here.
We weren't sure what these are, but they were quite large and spectacular.
Very few plants grow on the point itself due to the high and constant winds. One that does is this red alga (Trentepholia) needs no soil and is one of the few plants that can survive here.
