This fellow figured out that a dripping faucet makes a dandy place to find water.
This was one of a pair of birds that seemed to be courting? They hopped around each other for some time.

I had the camera set up on the tripod to take pictures of Heron & Egrets on the far side of the pond when this fellow flew by. Not sure what it is, but head looks a little like an owl?
Huntington Beach SP had quite a few species of birds during our short visit.
Now this picture is clear enough I should be able to identify the bird with a little research...
I was going to walk out to this platform to take pictures of birds, but the egrets beat me to it.
The small Heron on the left is not a baby, just a smaller species called a Tricolor Heron.
These were quite far out on the pond, but the picture has enough detail for me to identify these if I ever get a fast internet connection again...
I will try to identify these later...

These are much smaller then the Great Blue Heron we'd been seeing.

These birds are moving north from Flordia as it becomes increasingly developed and they loose habitat

We saw many brown pelicans at Hatteras Inlet today

This is just a sample of the many swans, egrets and ducks we saw here. There were also brown pelicans and blue herons, but I'm not sure you can see any in this picture.
I believe these are Trumpeter Swans (black beak), but have been wrong on my species identification before, so let me know
