The Croatian Mountaineering Club has many organizations and groups nationwide whose members volunteer the maintain hiking trails, signs, markings and clearing trails, working at refuge huts and organized events.
supposedly these flowers are endemic only to this one spot in sugarska peak, Velebit national park, in Croatia.

in the spring you can find irises growing in the wild in the hills, red poppies grow all over the place and other wild flowers, it is incredible to hike in the spring with everything exploding to life.
The trees in Patagonia are mangled by the wind and as a result of this and the shallow soil have very short lives.
The scale of these falls is overwhelming. It is hot and humid, although they say it is less so than normal for the summer -- the waterfall mist brings welcome relief.

The sun was sizzling against this moistened tree... causing steam to rise from it's bark. I thought it so lovely, so snapped the shot.
