The National Park Ranger was kind enough to pose with us. A ranger stays at the bridge to answer questions. There are about 1 million visitors a year to the Lexington Concord battlefield.
This was built in 1766 and was actually visited by George Washington, John Hancock, Lafayette and my mother and I!
In Acadia National Park
The water was cold, but probably not colder then Washington State
Just to prove we were really there. The geographic center of just the US is somewhere in Kansas.
This is JL working at one of the Sandblasting boxes at the "Rock of Ages" factory, making a souviner
The gift shop does a lot of busiess, but this is also their only factory location.
The first bus burned down, but they had this one out front, so I guess they replaced it.
Mom liked this Pedistrian Tunnel at the campground when we walked down to the beach.
The local's are having trouble believing the weather, 82 F on Oct 5th? Boston should be colder by now
We are standing in front the the "Boot Room", an entry way added later to keep the cold out of the main house (& wet, muddy boots)
We took the "Maid of the Mist" up to the bottom of both the American and Canadian sides of the Falls
A 'You Were There' picture! We were on the American Falls at this point. I was thrilled to be able to get so close to the top of the falls.
The map is beginning to look a little less empty...
Yes, I actually got to go through Fallingwaters, designed by Frank Lloyd Wright in 1934.
At Tessaro's, Paul says this is one of the top hamburger joints in the US. Those are 1/2 burgers we have! Another reason I should NOT be in front of the camera...
As usual, I hadn't brought the tripod along, so set the camera on their stereo shelf...
Our hosts took us to their favorite Ice Cream Parlor in Michigan. From left to right, Mom, Aunt Madeline, myself, and Uncle Bob.
Clockwise from top left, myself, my Uncle Bob, my Aunt Madeline, and Mom.
Mom took this from the parking lot using a 10x zoom. Lovely view from the top, even though it was a bit overcast.
This is me on the lower right, standing next to a 170 ton ore truck. They are made even larger than this nowdays.
Yes, I finally remembered to take my Tripod with me...
