St. Petersburg.
The impressive Cathedral.
This place is really beautiful day and night. At night it seems to float on the lake of sacred waters surrounding it
The most sacred monument in Laos is painted gold and looks very striking in the sunshine
This extraordinary place, near the heart of the ancient Khmer city has gargantuan faces looking to the four cardinal points of the compass...the book we consulted suggested there were more than 40 of them.
We came across quite a few of these small shrines in the various temples that we visited, each with a 'dressed' buddha. Some with people who would, for a small offering, light incense sticks for you and help you to pray
No dramatic sunrise shot for us but this lovely pastel pink sky behind the magnificent Angkor Wat across the moat
So named because of the very long eyelashes...included here as this is the year of the tiger and this one is in a temple near our hotel
a very nice view to the nile river and the nobels tome on the west bank of the river in aswan
This huge building dominates the main plaza in the old city of Cuenca. Sporting domes, turrets and towers it is an impressive place indeed.

The view from the top of Waynapicchu shows not just the layout of Machupicchu but in the context of the surrounding naural features. Machupicchu can be seen on the left of the picture half way up
Impossible to capture fully this place on film. It exceeded our expectations even with the huge build up we had. If you are going to go, go early. If you get the chance, climb the mountain behind, Waynapicchu for truly spectacular views of the area.
This wonderful place was nearly lost through neglect and wilful damage. This picture shows the pyramid in the middle of Lima city
