Little Hmong boy walking behind Ed

We were dutifully following the road and paths down to CatCat and this little boy suddenly appeared out of the bushes and walked ahead of me for a couple of minutes before veering off right, on a very steep short cut and was at the bottom long before us. He carried a long whippy stick and on his back he had a sheath with, what looked to be, a very large knife. I guess he was 6 or 7 years old.
